Our Story
Back in the 1950s, my great uncle started a cabinet company. This is where my father started working as a teenager, later opening his own business in the early 90s. I loved growing up working in my dad’s shop and now get to continue his legacy through Thornhill Cabinets.
It’s important to understand the past and where the industry has come from.
It’s also important to adapt, grow, and improve our craft. Knowing the skills and techniques and having a lot of the tools and machinery from long ago is what makes us special. We combine classic durability with on trend styles and updated materials for cabinets we know you’ll love.
Alan Thornhill
Before taking the road of entrepreneurship, I (Alan) received my degree in engineering and worked in manufacturing and quality. These years were very beneficial in developing an understanding of mechanics and manufacturing processes that is now directly applied in our workshop.
Jaime runs all the behind the scenes that’s required of a small business and our two boys bring a smile to everyone's face when they stop in for a visit!
Our Workshop
is a 5,000 sq ft manufacturing space located in Sanford, NC so we can easily access the Triangle and surrounding areas. We buy lumber and plywood and make everything in-house, as well as paint and install.
